“Life Outside: Collateral Damage” is an hour-long documentary film for television that examines the impact of the more often than not life-long obstacles that former inmates and people with criminal records face once their lives have intersected with the criminal justice system.  Incorporating different perspectives (historical, sociological,  economic and legal), this film investigates California’s current criminal justice crisis, the movement for criminal justice reform, why prevention and rehabilitation programs continue to be under-valued, and what needs to happen to create real change in California.
