SERVING HOPE is an audio drama set during World War II that follows a diverse group of Harvey Girl waitresses as they serve 1000s of troops every day in a pressure cooker environment, while simultaneously bearing the toll of the Mexican-American Repatriation Act, the Japanese Internment Camps and the issue of Native Americans not having full citizenship. Inspired by Katrina Parks’ documentary THE HARVEY GIRLS: OPPORTUNITY BOUND, each episode is followed by a Spotlight conversation with historians, authors and our creative team that explores the historical issues brought to life in our dramatic audio series. For your listening enjoyment, we are pre-releasing episode five and the accompanying spotlight episode.
